With the lumber.

Our lumber is either sourced, cut, and dried by us, or purchased from a local, sustainable dealer. We can often tell you exactly where the tree grew and why it came down! We believe in creating things that highlight the natural beauty of wood. This often involves including things in projects that others see as imperfections such as knots, grain imperfections, and even bug damage!

For the wood that we source, we work with municipalities, tree companies and individuals who have an already fallen tree. This allows us to take a tree that is destined to be ground up or left to rot and turn it into functional, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Interested in purchasing a slab?

If you are searching for a slab and/or lumber that is truly one-of-a-kind, reach out below! We currently have slabs in varying stages of air-drying available for sale. This is listed as green lumber as it is not currently kiln-dried and is still above the recommended moisture content required for furniture projects.

Need your own log milled?

Our mobile milling capabilities allow us to assist you in creating slabs from your logs*. Charges for mobile milling are: $65/hour with a $200 minimum. At this rate, we will cut the log up on site to your specifications. You will be responsible for moving and stacking the slabs once they are cut.

If you need assistance with this process, we can provide additional labor at $25/hour. We cut the slabs from 1” - 6” thickness with a capacity of 34” wide cut. If a wider cut is needed, please inquire! There will be a $60 blade charge if we damage any blades on metal, rocks, or other obstructions in the wood. You’d be surprised how often there are foreign objects embedded in a tree!

For any request located more than ten miles outside of Traverse City, MI, mileage will be charged at the current standard rate.
